On the morning of October 31, Prof. Zhang Bo, Vice President of UCASS, and Prof. David Wilkinson, Executive Vice President of Macquarie University from Australia signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the two universities in the CASS Archive Building. Senior administrators and heads of relevant departments from both sides were present to witness the memorable occasion, including members of the Macquarie delegation, representatives from CASS of International Cooperation Bureau and UCASS International Exchanges and Cooperation Division.

As indicated in the MOU, both sides will look to expand academic ties and student exchanges through joint education programs and research activities. With closer interactions and enhanced partnership, the two universities will also explore the setup of “Key Partner Scholarships” within the framework of the memorandum.
During the bilateral talks, Prof. Zhang Bo acknowledged the ever greater momentum on cooperation and exchanges between UCASS and Macquarie as she reviewed the history of this thriving partnership. Now with both sides ready to write a new chapter of further cooperation, Prof. Zhang touched upon many areas of keen interest for her counterpart, including the latest developments of UCASS and prospects of bilateral cooperation.
Prof. David Wilkinson also raised his expectations for strengthened exchanges and substantive cooperation in priority areas. The discussion was followed by an in-depth exchange of views on execution of student exchange, joint education program and faculty exchange projects.
